Oral Cancer Screens

We routinely provide oral cancer screens as part of your dental examination. We look for signs of cancer or precancerous conditions in your mouth. We identify mouth cancer early to improve the chance of recovery.

Some people with a high risk of oral cancer may be more likely to benefit from oral cancer screening including people who have a history of:

• Heavy alcohol
• Tobacco use of any kind
• History of significant sun exposure, which increases the risk of lip cancer
• Previous oral cancer diagnosis
